Recently I received Stanley in the mail from my nephew Michael Petersen.
Stanley is a flat man that Michael has been reading about in school. Stanley
took a trip to Memphis in the mail to visit us. This is what he saw wile in
Memphis.
Remember all the pictures are thumb nailed so you
can click on them to see better!!!
Well I received
Stanley on Tue July 05 at 1347 Wilbec
We went to
the Bank, Navy Federal Credit Union, to finance the trip around Memphis
.
You know those gas prices are horrible.
After we got are
gas and lunch money, we went to Graceland
.
We saw Elvis's
plane the Lisa Marie
.
Then we saw
Graceland were Elvis once lived
.
In this picture
you can see Stanly in front of the wall that is around Graceland.
A lot of people sign
this wall, and it seemed as if Stanley wanted to but we were rushed for time.
We headed downtown,
and on the way passed some train yards
.
You know Memphis is the home to FedEx, and one of the shipping capitals of the
US. This is because we are located in the middle of the country and have a major
river beside our town.
After that we were
off to the River
.
We took a slow
drive down Riverside drive toward Beale St. see pics
.
In this picture
you can see the Pyramid, this is the home of the Memphis Grizzly’s basket ball
team, until the get the FedEx forum in this picture
finished being built. Next we drove down Beale St. this is ware you go to hear
Blues.
Memphis is the home
of the blues and in this picture
you can see BB King’s ( a famous Blues singer) restaurant.
this is our
downtown buildings,
we are a much smaller city than Dallas.
This picture is of
the AutoZone Park were the Redbirds play,
they are the minor league for the Saint Louse Cardinals. We are also the home to
the large chain of auto part stores know as AutoZone.
As we headed home
we saw one of the downtown trolley stations
.
We then took more
pictures as we drove home
along
Riverside drive, before getting on the freeway
(I-55, and I-40). I55, andI40 are the main highways though Memphis.
All in all Stanley
seemed to have fun on his trip, and is welcome back any time…
